Women in Chemicals Launches Myers-Greene Family STEM Scholarship Fund
The program will award an annual scholarship of $10,000 to a woman pursuing a secondary education in a STEM field
New York, NY - Women in Chemicals, a nonprofit organization committed to advancing and empowering women across the chemical industry, has launched the Myers-Greene Family STEM Scholarship Fund that will award an annual scholarship in the amount of $10,000. The first of its kind, the scholarship supports women pursuing a secondary education in STEM from an accredited institution, including trade and technical programs, as a pathway to a meaningful career in the chemical industry.
Amelia Greene, Co-Founder and Chairwoman of Women in Chemicals, stated, “Women in Chemicals was founded on the belief that when we support and invest in women, we elevate the entire industry. This scholarship represents the intersection of my parents’ legacy and my own journey. My dad’s love of science, my mom’s perseverance in a male-dominated environment and their shared belief that education changes lives have all shaped this path. I believe that when women are given opportunities to lead, they not only change their own paths but also transform the industries around them."
The application period will run from January - March 2026, and is open to a woman pursuing a secondary education in the STEM field. The scholarship honors the legacy of the Myers-Greene family and reflects on Women in Chemicals’ mission to create access, opportunity, and long-term career impact for women entering the field.
Amber Thichangthong, Executive Director of Women in Chemicals, noted “In an industry with growing opportunities for women, Women in Chemicals is dedicated to supporting the next generation of leaders and raising awareness about the availability of career pathways. Collaborating with the Myers-Greene family to launch this scholarship paves the way to connect with women at the onset of their career, providing meaningful support as they begin to navigate the industry.”
Women in Chemicals will serve as the scholarship administrator, and spearhead engagement with educational institutions and students to promote awareness of the scholarship. The scholarship marks a key step in the next phase of the Women in Chemicals Careers in Chemicals program, reinforcing the organization’s commitment to equipping women with the tools, connections, and opportunities essential to building thriving careers in the chemical industry.
