Women in Chemicals Scholarship

The Women in Chemicals scholarship program is designed to encourage the advancement of women in STEM, and to promote careers in the chemical industry.

Through the Myers-Greene Family STEM Scholarship Fund, Women in Chemicals will award an annual scholarship in the amount of $10,000 to one woman pursuing a post secondary education in STEM through an accredited university, vocational or trade school.

The scholarship will be awarded for the first time in 2026 and the recipient will be honored at the 2026 Women in Chemicals Conference on September 14-16.

Application & Criteria

Applications for a scholarship through the Myers-Greene Family STEM Scholarship Fund will open in February 2026, and will be accepted through March 31, 2026. The recipient of the scholarship will be notified no later than July 1.

Applicant Criteria

  • Woman pursuing a STEM education via an accredited university, vocational or trade school.

  • Demonstrate financial need

  • Dedication to service and academics

    • key academic and extracurricular achievements

    • commitment to service

    • how your education could be applied to a role in the chemical industry

  • The Scholarship Committee reviews all applications to determine the best overall applicant.

    Scholarships are awarded on the basis of a recipient's relevant academic field of study, future career objective, demonstrated need, and academic and/or leadership achievements.

  • The scholarship program will run annually and is a one time award of $10,000 to a woman pursuing an education in the STEM field.

  • No. This scholarship is intended for students pursuing undergraduate STEM education at an accredited university, vocational school, or trade school.

  • Yes. Currently, the scholarship is limited to applicants located in the United States. We hope to expand eligibility to other regions in the future.

  • “INITIALSZIPCODE” refers to the applicant’s personal initials followed by their ZIP code. This format helps us match documents with the correct application.

  • Yes. We prefer applicants submit a complete application that includes letters of recommendation, but we understand that some teachers or professors may prefer to submit their letters confidentially. Recommenders may email their letter directly to scholarship@womeninchemicals.com with the subject line: “Letter of Recommendation / Applicant First & Last Name.”
    If possible, applicants should indicate on their submission form that their recommender will send the letter separately.

  • Applicants should describe relevant financial circumstances in their application. Supporting documentation demonstrating financial need may be uploaded with the application, but it is optional for the preliminary application. Finalists will be asked to provide additional documentation—such as FAFSA information, tuition details, or tax return transcripts—to verify financial need, tuition costs, and household income. 

  • Scholarship funds must be used for tuition expenses.

  • No. Unofficial transcripts are acceptable for finalists. The scholarship committee may request an official transcript if additional verification or details are needed
