Advisory Board Member Svjetlana Jerkovic speaks at IUPAC & Wiley's Global Womens Breakfast in Berlin

Women in Chemicals (WIC) was honoured to participate in the IUPAC & Wiley Global Women’s Breakfast 2026 on February 10th, a worldwide hybrid event focused on catalysing diversity and strengthening inclusion across the global scientific community.

Hosted at Wiley’s Berlin office and delivered in a hybrid format, the event connected participants across Berlin, Weinheim, and international online audiences. Scientists, publishers, educators, and industry leaders gathered to exchange perspectives, build networks, and discuss actionable approaches to advancing representation in chemistry and STEM.

WIC was represented by Advisory Board Member Svjetlana Jerkovic, who spoke on behalf of the organisation and provided industry insight into the importance of cross-sector collaboration in driving progress for women in chemicals and related fields.

The program featured expert speakers and interactive discussion, creating space for meaningful dialogue and global connection — a core objective of the Global Women’s Breakfast initiative. Participation in this event marks another intentional step forward in Women in Chemicals’ global growth strategy.

WIC thanks IUPAC, Wiley, Angewandte Chemie, and Chemistry Europe for organising and hosting this impactful event and for continuing to champion inclusive progress across the sciences.

Events like the Global Women’s Breakfast play an important role in strengthening networks, sharing knowledge, and accelerating cultural change across the chemical and scientific industries.
