Women in Chemicals and Brenntag Bring “Resilient and Ready” to EPCA 2026 in Vienna
Women in Chemicals and Brenntag Bring “Resilient and Ready” to EPCA 2026 in Vienna
Women in Chemicals, together with our valued partners at Brenntag, hosted another sold-out joint cocktail reception on October 5, 2026, during EPCA in Vienna, Austria. Set in the iconic Salonplafond at the Museum of Applied Arts, the evening brought together more than 220 women and allies from across the global chemical industry to connect, exchange ideas, and strengthen our shared commitment to a more inclusive and resilient future.
Building on the energy of previous years, this year’s reception embraced the theme “Resilient and Ready,” inspired by the 2026 theme of our annual Women in Chemicals Conference. The messages reflected on the importance of resilience, collaboration, and preparing the next generation of talent to thrive in an evolving industry.
Inspiring remarks were shared from David O’Connell, Senior Vice President of Global Sourcing and Supply at Brenntag Essentials; Katie Hess, Executive Director of Women in Chemicals; and Paula Ramirez-Weyershausen, SVP Procurement and Head of Unit Inorganics and Base Petrochemicals at Evonik. Their perspectives reinforced the importance of strong partnerships, inclusive leadership, and creating opportunities for women to advance and make a lasting impact across the chemical value chain.
For Women in Chemicals, this annual gathering represents more than a networking reception. It is an opportunity to bring together people who believe that a stronger industry is built when women and allies have the connections, support, visibility, and opportunities they need to succeed. In an industry facing continued change, building resilience means investing in people, championing diverse perspectives, and working together to create meaningful progress.
