Is AI Going to Take My Job? Reskilling for a Gen-AI Future
Session Summary: AI is transforming the chemicals and manufacturing industries faster than any previous technological wave, raising urgent questions about job security, evolving skill sets, and what the workforce of the future will look like. This session offers a grounded, transparent look at what AI can and cannot replace, especially in technical, operational, and leadership roles.
Generative AI, automation, predictive modeling, and robotics are reshaping tasks across R&D, supply chain, commercial functions, EHS, and plant operations. Rather than framing the future as a threat, this session highlights the tremendous opportunity for professionals to augment their expertise, accelerate decision-making, and increase their strategic value.
We’ll cover the critical “future-proof” skills that AI can’t replicate, such as judgment, stakeholder influence, safety-critical decision making, relationship leadership, creativity, and cross-functional communication, along with specific, practical reskilling paths for employees at all levels. Mindsets and behaviors will also be covered.
Attendees will leave with clarity, confidence, and an actionable roadmap for staying relevant, resilient, and indispensable in an AI-enabled workplace.
